- India Gate :
India Gate, one of the most popular monuments across the country is situation in the heart of the city. Designed by Edwin Lutyens, it’s foundation was laid in 1920 and the final structure was revealed in 1933. The sandstone structure was dedicated to the Indian soldiers of British Army who died in World War I. In year 1971, the Amar Jawan Joti was added to mark the martyrdom of soldiers who fought the Indo – Pakistan war.
The magnificent gate is surrounded by lush green lawns which make an ideal picnic spot and are also frequented by joggers and walkers. One can also enjoy boating in the nearby pond.

- Red Fort :
The massive red sandstone Red Fort is an excellent example of the Mughal architecture.
Initiated by Shah Jahan in 1638, the structure took 10 years to come to its final state.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site is where Prime Minister delivers his speech every year on Independence day eve. Spread over ~255 acres, the walls of the fort are around 2 kilometres long with calligraphy and beautiful flower decorations.
