Indonesians find Bollywood a source of entertainment. If you go by reports, Hindi movies are broadcast about twice a day on different channels in the country. Even on television, several of their advertisements include Bollywood Stars such as Shahrukh Khan and women who wear traditional Indian sarees. However, all these adds are mostly dubbed in Indonesian language only.
Bollywood movies have garnered a lot of appreciation and love from the Indonesian community, especially on the islands of Bali and Java, where the local dance and music scene is heavily influenced by Indian tradition and performing arts.
My name is Khan
A Karan Johar movie resides the story of a Muslim who suffers from Asperger Syndrome (just like what Dustin Hoffman experienced in Rainman).
No doubt, Shahrukh Khan’s amazing acting has put him in all the right spots. He underplays his character like never before in the movie and mellows down the human drama with much positivity. The whole story, although based on 9/11, ends up being good with its well-cluttered cinematography and sound cast.
One of the most important dialogues of the movie was, ‘My name is Khan, and I am not terrorist.’ Once you watch the movie, I am sure the dialogue will get stuck with you.
With an awful Obama duplicate, the movie took the movie market by storm and is worth a watch on Shahrukh Khan’s name alone.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan
‘Salman Khan’, do you know this name! Well, we firmly believe you must have seen him at so many movies and advertisements. What about Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui! Yes, this is the cast of Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one movie that’s meant for inspiring people with love and compassion. The fulfills its purpose with resounding success. Its story and screenplay will motivate you to get in touch with goodness, abandoning even the remotest negativity in life.
The story of the movie transcends the borders and limitations of culture, geography, and even emotions. The movie sells you a far-fetched story set in utopian circumstances. And regardless of the logic, you might employ, the dialogues and acting will make you tug your heartstrings.
The only emotion that will reciprocate while you watch this movie is LOVE.
For once, being a Salman Khan fan doesn’t matter; he has acted brilliantly in the movie. You’ll undoubtedly fall in love with his performance and his film. It can be considered as one of his career-best and a solid entertainer.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Although when you look at it now, the movie was based on an unusually silly theme, it was and still is one of the most loved movies of all time.
You may ask why?
Well, in our opinion it’s the immense ‘Love’ that’s showcased in the movie,
The love between two friends
The love between a father and a daughter
The love between a grandmother and a granddaughter
And of course, the valentines fever in a college
The movie revolves around a core subject of explaining how ‘Love is friendship,’ which delivers its message in tonality with an organic innocence.
Fun fact: The movie was written by Karan Johar when he was only 24 years old. And it’s one of the biggest cult movies Bollywood has ever witnessed.
